Workshop Appointment Management

Workshop Appointment Management (also known as Connected Service Booking) enables workshop bookings initiated by Sensus cloud connected vehicles in case of service or repair need. The vehicle will indicate the workshop need for the customer via Sensus Connect (the Infotainment Head Unit) and suggest sending a workshop booking request to the customer's preferred dealer. If the customer accepts this, a workshop booking request including State Of Health data will be sent to the dealer.

In VIDA, preferred dealers receive this information via the Appointments page.

Bookings may also be initiated by customers (manual requests) via Sensus Connect in vehicles or by using the booking functionalities in My Volvo ownership website.

The booking functionality in My Volvo ownership website is available for customers with connected as well as non-Sensus cloud connected vehicles. These bookings do not include any State Of Health data.

From VIDA, it is possible to manage workshop booking requests from customers via the Appointments page. What can be done from VIDA is listed below:

  • See and get access to all customer data of customers who have set the dealer's dealership as preferred dealer.

  • Receive and see customers' workshop booking requests for service, repair and workshop appointments for other needs of the vehicle.

  • Send booking proposals and communicate workshop appointments with customers.

  • Receive and see State Of Health data and warnings from Sensus cloud connected vehicles, based on functional problems in certain systems.

Note

Not only Sensus cloud connected vehicles are included and handled in Workshop Appointment Management, but also non-Sensus cloud connected vehicles back to model year 2004 (may differ depending on market).

Only markets with Volvo Central Database and My Volvo ownership website rolled out are able to use Workshop Appointment Management. Other markets do not have any Workshop Appointment Management functionalities in VIDA.

Canada, Sweden and USA have a locally adapted Workshop Appointment Management solution with an online booking and management tool. This means that the content of this user guide is only applicable for these markets to a limited extent.
