Using diagnostic sequences on the Components page

This procedure describes where to find and execute service actions. Service actions are diagnostic operations that are related to a service.

This procedure is only applicable for VDS protocol-based vehicles.

The procedure is based on a case where a customer is at your workshop for service. Your task is to run a diagnostic operation. The vehicle, an XC90 with model year 2016, is connected to VIDA through Wi-Fi.

 

Connect the vehicle

  1. Since the vehicle is connected to VIDA through Wi-Fi, it is available under the Connected Vehicles tab directly. Connect the vehicle by selecting the Connected Vehicles tab and clicking the Connect button.

    The vehicle is connected and assigned its own tab. The Diagnostics tab is opened by default.

 

Find and select service functions

  1. To be able to view information in a non-guided mode, select Components in the left-hand menu panel.

  2. ð

    The Components page is opened.

  3. From the component list you can select a component to work with. The components are grouped by ECUs (control modules) and Other (other components).

  4. Select Other.

    ð

    In this list you can see all other components of the vehicle but also the service functions category. The service functions category is available on the top of the list.

  5. Select the service functions category and open the Diagnostic Sequences tab.

  6. ð

    A list of diagnostic sequences connected to service functions is shown. In this list you will find all diagnostic sequences containing service functions.

  7. Click the title of the sequence you want to start.

  8. ð

    A pop-up is shown where you can start the selected sequence.

 

Start diagnostic sequence

  1. Click the Start button.

  2. ð

    The sequence is started.

  3. Verify that the function is responding as expected.

  4. When you are done, exit by click the Close button.
