Parameters

By using the Parameters tab, it is possible to read certain specific functions of the control modules in the vehicle. Most of these functions are possible to see, for example the headlamps and power windows.

Note

Note

This tab is only enabled if there are any parameters available for the control module selected in the Control Module panel.

Fig. 205: Vehicle Communication page - Parameters

Each area of the page is explained in the subsections below.

1. Control Module panel

In the Control Module panel, deviations on the vehicle's network communication are presented in a graphic. The graphic reflects the vehicle's network with all control modules' status at the latest readout.

Fig. 206: The Control Module panel

The color of the control modules in the graphic varies depending on status:

Color

Description

Green

Control module responsive to communication.

Red

Control module not responsive to communication.

Gray

Control module not part of the vehicle configuration (it may, however, be in the relevant vehicle model).

An explanation of the colors is accessed by clicking the icon.

By selecting a control module in the graphic, the list under the Parameters tab is populated with all available parameters for the selected control module.

2. Parameters tab

In this list, all available parameters for the selected control module are listed.

Fig. 207: List of parameters under the Parameters tab

The list is in some cases structured in categories. A icon is available in some of the category's header. By clicking such an icon, a reference document is opened under the Information tab on the right-hand side of the screen.

A parameter is selected by ticking its corresponding checkbox or by double clicking. The parameters you select are read and transferred to the list of parameters under the Selected Parameters tab on the right-hand side of the screen. At most 10 parameters can be added.

3. Selected Parameters tab

Under this tab, all selected parameters under the Parameters tab are displayed in a list.

Fig. 208: The Selected Parameters tab

The list is structured in two columns:

Column

Description

Parameters

Names of selected parameters.

Value

Values of selected parameters. The values differ from parameter to parameter and can e.g. be "12V", "Pos II" or "On". A icon is displayed if the vehicle is not returning information on selected parameter. Please send an error report if this problem occurs.

Below the list of parameters, there are two buttons:

button

Description

Remove

A parameter in the list can be removed by using this button or by unticking it in the list under the Parameters tab. Removing parameters is sometimes necessary due to the restriction of maximum 10 parameters in the list. However, removed parameters can be added again anytime.

Graphic Display

By selecting parameter(s) and clicking the Graphic Display button, the parameter(s) are displayed graphically in a new window. See the article Graphic Display for further information.

Select parameters by ticking the checkboxes.

4. Information tab

By clicking a icon next to a parameter category under the Parameters tab, the reference document for the category is presented here. The reference document contains descriptions of the parameters.
