Selected CSC

The Selected CSC tab is enabled if CSC has been added to the selected vehicle's currently active work list. Here you can find fault tracing procedures connected to those added CSC.

Each area of the page is explained in the subsections below.

1. CSC drop-down menu

This drop-down menu contains all the CSC that are present in the currently active work list. The CSC must be associated to a DTC that is connected to a diagnostic or symptom based fault tracing document.

Fig. 181: CSC drop-down menu

When you select a CSC from the drop-down menu, possibly affected control modules are highlighted in the vehicle graphic in the Control Module panel, see explanation to the different colors below.

Update

Use the Update button to refresh the page. A pop-up will prompt you to perform certain actions on the vehicle. This is to ensure that all control modules are forced into a new operation cycle. Once these actions are performed, click the Ok button to trigger a new vehicle readout that updates the information fields.

Action History

By clicking the Action History button, all actions performed in the current fault tracing session for selected CSC are presented in a pop-up.

2. Control Module panel

In the Control Module panel, selected CSC in relation to DTCs are presented in a graphic. The graphic reflects the vehicle's network with all control modules' status at the latest readout.

The color of the control modules in the graphic varies depending on status:

Color

Description

Red

Control module has a relation to selected CSC and DTC was found active.

Yellow

Control module has a relation to selected CSC but the DTC was found not active.

Green

Control module has a relation to selected CSC but no fault was found.

White

Control module has no relation to selected CSC.

Gray

Control Module is not part of the vehicle configuration or not responsive to communication. It may however be in the relevant vehicle model.

An explanation of the colors is accessed by clicking the icon.

Note

Note

The graphic is only an illustrative support. It is not possible to affect the list of DTCs in the Diagnostic Procedures panel by clicking a control module in the graphic.

3. Diagnostic Procedures panel

In this panel, all DTCs and Symptom Related Diagnostic Procedure documents related to the selected CSC are listed.

Fig. 184: The Diagnostic Procedures panel

For each DTC in the list, a status indication based on the last readout is displayed in a “traffic sign” format:

Color

Description

DTC test completed at least once in the current operation cycle and fault was found.

DTC test did not complete during the current operation cycle.

DTC test completed at least once in the current operation cycle and no fault was found.

DTC test result not available.

The DTCs are sorted by status. Red status has a higher value than yellow and is shown first in the list.

By selecting a DTC or Symptom Related Diagnostic Procedure document, related fault tracing information and procedures are available under the Additional Information and Fault Trace Procedure tabs. These tabs are located in the panel on the right-hand side of the screen.

4. Fault Trace Procedure tab

When selecting a DTC or Symptom Related Diagnostic Procedure document, from the Diagnostic Procedures panel, the relevant fault tracing procedure document is presented here. Fault tracing information is shown by default when the document is opened. Click the second link below the document header to open the fault tracing procedure part of the document. Use the first link below the document header to return to the fault tracing information.
