Connecting a vehicle (VDS)

This procedure describes how to connect a VDS protocol-based vehicle.

Note

This procedure is only applicable for VDS protocol-based vehicles.

If a vehicle is already connected and occupied by another user or if you only need to see information about the vehicle, use the Select button. To perform fault tracing and software download, the vehicle needs to be connected according to this procedure.

If no Wi-Fi is available in the workshop, connect the vehicle to VIDA by cable.

Select the Connected Vehicles tab under the Home tab.
Click the Connect button for the vehicle you want to connect.
If an earlier readout is found for the vehicle, a pop-up is shown with details of the previous readout. Click Update to perform a new complete readout or Cancel to use the previous readout.

ð	The vehicle is connected and assigned its own tab.
