Managing primary driver

On the Volvo Central Database customer details page it is possible to set a primary driver of a vehicle. The primary driver is the one who is normally the first registered driver of a vehicle and handles the vehicle's workshop booking functionalities and communicates with the dealer about workshop appointments etc. The customer handles this communication via My Volvo ownership website and Sensus Connect.

To set a primary driver of a vehicle, follow the procedure below.

Note

Note

This procedure is only applicable for customers in Volvo Central Database.

  1. Open the Customer Details page by clicking a customer name in a list or by searching customer profiles.

  2. Tick the Primary driver check box.

  3. ð

The customer is set as primary driver of the vehicle.

Note

Note

It is only possible to set a customer as primary driver if the ownership type of that customer is Drives.

If there is only one driver of a vehicle, the Primary driver check box will always be ticked and it will not be possible to untick the box. To remove a primary driver in such a case, the driver relation must be removed, see Removing a vehicle relation. If there is more than one driver, the check box can be unticked and another primary driver can be selected.

The primary driver needs a Volvo ID and an active personal My Volvo ownership website with a preferred dealer set in order to use the Workshop Appointment Management functionalities.

Always verify with the customer before setting primary driver.

The primary driver and one or more drivers or owners can have a relation with one and the same vehicle. The requirement is that they have an active Volvo ID and personal My Volvo ownership website. For the vehicle that they have a relation to, they can all see on-going workshop bookings and use the workshop booking functionality at My Volvo ownership website. Only the originator of a workshop booking can manage the workshop booking.
