Vehicles use different kind of protocols when communicating with VIDA. One of these protocols is called VDS. This protocol is used in all vehicles on the new electrical platform, starting with XC90 model year 2016. The vehicle communication methods and diagnostic handling differ, depending on what protocol the vehicle uses.
