Connecting a vehicle to VIDA wirelessly

These procedures describe how to connect a vehicle to VIDA wirelessly.

Note

Note

These procedures are only applicable for VDS protocol-based vehicles.

Automatic wireless connection

With this configuration, the vehicle detects a Volvo wireless network when it approaches the dealer. The following happens in the vehicle:

  1. The driver turns of the engine and a banner is shown in the upper part of Sensus Connect, informing that the vehicle will be connected to the network.

  2.

The driver now has to tap Cancel within a certain period of time in order to reject the connection.

  3. The driver wants to connect to the network and does not tap Cancel.

  4. ð

The vehicle is automatically connected to the network when the driver's door is opened.

Semi-automatic wireless connection

With this configuration, the vehicle detects a Volvo wireless network when it approaches a dealer site. The following happens in the vehicle:

  1. The driver turns of the engine and a pop-up dialogue is presented in Sensus Connect, informing that the vehicle can be connected to the network.

  2.

  4. ð

The vehicle is automatically connected to the network when the driver's door is opened.

Manual wireless connection

If an automatic connection is aborted or rejected, the vehicle is configured to not connect automatically or for any other reason is not connected to the Wi-Fi network upon arrival, the Wireless communication can be established manually. This is done via the network settings in Sensus Connect inside the vehicle or by conducting a command on the vehicle's control key.

Manual wireless connection is also used to re-establish communication if a wireless connection is in power save mode. See the article Power save mode for further information.

  1. On the vehicles remote control key, press the lock button three times within two seconds.
